Railways run 24/7, shift work, teamwork
Our endless railroads are a monument to Canada. They seem to flow with ease but in reality it’s more like a giant computer system, prone to viruses that we never see because there happens to be an anti-virus program. The hard work and coordination of a Bridge and Building Foreman keeps everything in check by troubleshooting and eliminating any potential “viruses”.
Whether he’s dangling from a cable underneath a bridge while hot rivets rain down or braving a snowstorm to save a train, the Foreman is the unsung hero of the railroads. Like an anti-virus program, these workers have the job of looking for any problems with the railroad and coordinating everything necessary to solve and protect it.
