Some shift work, irregular hours, possibly working away from home

Work Involved

Try juggling ten things at once while helping ten people at once and you’ll get a Customer Service Attendant (CSA). It’s tough serving large groups of people but it’s an extra challenge when you’re on a moving boat!

It can be a circus for a CSA as you might be cleaning a floor, bringing food to a table or, in an emergency situation, helping someone into a life raft. You have many duties, all of which are important to keeping a ferry sailing along while giving patrons the best possible experience. It’s a huge responsibility to help carry families and their vehicles safely across the sea.

CSAs work very hard and they acquire many skills including being able to work well in a team under high-pressure situations. A ferry often seems calm and peaceful but underneath it all is a team cleaning, serving and protecting the patrons it carries.

Education & Training

High school plus certificates in Food Safe, First Aid, and Seafarer’s medical. Serving It Right may also be a requirement.
