Shift work, can be stressful, especially in harsh weather
One of the most important positions in an airport is at the ?information nexus? where everything from flight schedules to maintenance reports to weather conditions are flowing through. A Flight Dispatcher deals with a mountain of duties that can throw huge pressure on people who have to think quickly.
Flight Dispatchers communicate with pilots landing and taking off, maintenance workers, ground crew, emergency crew and various airport staff where one decision can be the difference between life and death. These people are very organized and have to be professional because they work in a field where their decisions, no matter how small, can impact everyone in the airport.
