Not a typical 9-5, away from home for days at a time on international flights

If an airplane were a human being the cockpit could be thought of as the brain of the plane. In there is someone who makes sure that everything is running smoothly. Just like our brain makes sure that our blood is pumping, our stomach is digesting, and our lungs are breathing, the Flight Engineer makes sure that the plane is working properly.

While in the air, the plane?s Flight Engineer keeps an eye on all of the systems like fuel, air pressure and electrical systems. He is the link between the flight crew and the airplane so that if the plane gets sick while 400 souls are on board, someone will be there to fix the problem.

Canadian Commercial Pilots? licence plus a Canadian radio telephone licence
