Work Involved

From one of the weirdest looking machines in the world the Rubber Tyred Gantry Operator looks over the field of containers that just came off the ship, rubs his hands, licks his lips and gets ready to play the largest game of blocks on the planet. This longshoreman spends his day operating the huge beast of a vehicle, sitting at 100 feet in the air moving containers filled with video games or vanilla and just about anything else that we import.

Rubber Tyred Gantry Operators work with Container Yard Checkers to organize the docks and to help load trucks with the flow of a river so nothing backs up and people get everything they need. These indispensable operators work alone up top in the gantry, thriving on the fast paced job that, to them, is just a bigger version of a game they played when they were kids.
