Trains run 24/7, irregular hours, some outside work

The rail yard is home base to all of the trains making journeys across Canada and the Yard Master is the boss of everything that happens here. Sure there are mechanics and inspectors and conductors working around the site, but the Yard Master does the big job of coordinating all workers and train repairs. He is responsible for assembling the trains out of the individual cars.

Home base is always busy with incoming trains, repaired trains leaving, new employees eager to start working and inspectors keeping the yard up to standard but the coach who organizes all these players is the Yardmaster.

Several years of rail experience plus a level ‘A’ certificate of the Canadian Rail Operating Rules is required
